Are You On Your Way To Drug Rehab?

Well, the age old question has reared its ugly head again, and the argument rages on about whether marijuana, pot, weed, cannabis, Northern Lights, Skunk, grass, reefer, ganja, or Afghani #, whatever you want to call it the evil weed, as it has been demonized in the many forms of propaganda out there since the thirties. Alternatively, if it is something that is harmless, and, not only that but actually beneficial to you, as it has been shown in medical cases?
It is interesting that the battle against pot, or whatever you want to call it really started in the thirties, with such memorable propaganda films as Reefer Madness, where all it took was one puff and a clean cut teen was reduced to a slobbering fiend capable of murder. However, why did this program start, and what was the catalyst that started this battle that is still raging with no signs of letting up?
Well, if you look back before the thirties, to the time when patent medicine was being regulated in order to stop the shysters and con men from almost poisoning people, it is interesting to note that that movement began the pharmaceutical trade, which took over and began their toxic trade.
Cannabis plants were grown on farms by people who lived a life that wasn’t under the control of banks or drug companies, or government agencies. These people had been using marijuana for all sorts of cures and ailments, claiming that its effects were optimal, and not only that, they used the hemp to make very durable clothing. The cannabis plant to them was a Godsend, and they swore by it.
It may sound like some scary conspiracy theory designed to alarm people, but what I have just said is true, and you can verify it on the net, by researching all the different articles on it. However, there is one thing that is evident, and that is that science has proven that there are definite medical benefits of marijuana for some diseases like glaucoma, the after effects of chemotherapy, and the reduction of lung cancer tumors by 50%.
On the other side of that coin are the reported side effects of marijuana, which are problems with memory and learning, and attention deficit, sometimes there is difficulty in problem solving with some and some say that smoking marijuana can lead to the harder drugs, and even addiction because of how powerful the plant has become with increased cultivation.
So, what is the trade off here amid all the pro and con hype? Should cannabis users get rid of the bongs, hash bags, bubble bags and roach clips and replace them with a 2-4 of beer or a box of cigars?
