Marijuana’s other name is mind-altering agent with scientific name Cannabis sativa. The Marijuana, cannabis, or hemp plant is one of the oldest psychoactive plants known to humanity. The preparation of Cannabis have been used as remedies for thousands of years and the active ingredients of the hemp plant can be put to use in a large number of medical conditions. It contain delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, is the main active chemical in marijuana. By appearance it is a brown, green or a gray mixture of dried, shredded leaves, stems, seeds and flowers of the hemp plant. This mixture typically is green, brown, or gray in color and may resemble tobacco. There are more than two hundreds slang terms for marijuana.

The misuse of marijuana also can cause serious physical and mental problems including frequent respiratory infections, impaired memory and learning ability, increased heart rate, anxiety, and panic attacks. The individuals who regularly use the drug may experience the same problems as tobacco smokers including cough, phlegm, chronic bronchitis, and frequent chest colds. In addition, as marijuana contains toxins and carcinogens marijuana smokers increase their danger of cancer of the head, neck, lungs, and respiratory tract.
