It's believed that hash first originated from Central Asia as these regions were one of the first to be populated by the Cannabis plant which is believed to have originated from the Himalayas. Hash quickly spread around the world after the Arabs took it, and traded it with the world. Production of hash later spread to North Africa(most prominently Morroco), and middle east .
The hashish is one of the old psychotropic leaf familiar to humans. Hashish has become one of the most familiar and broadened of plants. It was and is being cultivated around the world in changed environment. It has been used as a medical component for thousand years and the components of the hemp plant can be used in large number of medical conditions. It has a very decent history. During 6000B.C in China cannabis sows used for foods. Hashish is being used simultaneously as food grain and also as fiber until 1500B.C.Hemp is being described by the Zoroastrian as” good narcotic” There has been found sign for hashish to be used as a tool at ritual process. During 500-100B.C hashish is being introduced to Europe by scathians. Scythian couple die and are buried (at grave site in Pazryk, nothwest of the Tien Shan Mountains in modern-day Khazakstan) with two small tents covering censors. Attached to one tent stick was a decorated leather pouch containing wild Cannabis seeds. Unknown whether this was for purely ritual or also intoxicating use of Cannabis. Marco Polo gave a sound relation between hashish and “assassins” which got attention all over the world. Hashish was at first banned by Ottoman Emir Soudan Scheickhouni in 1378. Babur Nama, first emperor and founder of Mughal Empire learned of hashish in Afghanistan. In 1526 A.D. Around 1550 in Brazil marijuana was introduced by slaves working in plantations. Hashish has become major business between central Asia and South Asia by the late 17th century. After visiting to Egypt Napoleon banned use of hashish in 1798. Meanwhile, hashish has gained popularity for its medical importance. Around the world. Persian also used hashish hugely. In 1840 pharmaceuticals has got permission to use as base in America. British started to tax ganja and charas in India in 1856.
In 1890 in Turkey and Greece use of hashish was prohibited. But hashish trading had been available in Asia and Middle East. In 1927 America forbade use of hashish for non-medicinal use. It was also banned in Briatain. But it leads to smuggling from Turkey and Egypt. After the first World War hashish was banned from maximum countries in general. It gained vast popularity from time to time like world war ii, hippie movement, rock n roll etc. The Regan government had forbade hemp plant cultivation in 1972.
Although it is forbade, Hashish is still used as entertainment drug in every culture and country. There has been movement for legislation support by a quite few people. Marijuana has gained legality by Amsterdam and Canadian province. Many governments are still disputing over it as hashish has not wasted its popularity.
