Hypnosis and Marijuana
2009.05.03
Well, there are so many articles and so much information on marijuana, and there are so many articles out there about hypnosis, but I suppose the two had to meet somewhere.
Hypnosis is usually used for those who feel that they can’t control what they consider a problem, whether it be smoking, drugs, losing weight or dealing with an addiction to sex, gambling or any other addiction where people feel that they aren’t in control anymore.
In fact, as far as weed is concerned, it has not been conclusively proven that it is addictive. It has been shown that heavy users who have done pot for a long time have shown not a dependency, but a need to have more in order to get the buzz. Which is they used to get before they stated really getting into it.
Hypnosis can be tricky, because you are supposed to be dealing with a professional, and are therefore willing to submit to what they implant in you. I suppose that if someone is unsure of what someone may do to them while they are totally at someone else’s mercy that they may want to consider a less drastic approach, but, I suppose that if all else has failed, more drastic measures can be taken.
There is a lot of uncertainty about hypnosis because many have seen those stage acts where people are made to do things that would be viewed as embarrassing when they are brought out. However, when people have felt the need to go outside regular channels, and try hypnosis for whatever, it has been found to be helpful in some areas, and harmful in others.
Some who have had hypnosis swear by it, and others who have had it claim that they get bad headaches, or nausea, along with nightmares after so many treatments. It is hard to say if hypnosis is good or bad, it is really up to the individual to try it, if they feel that they can’t control whatever they are addicted to, but, common sense dictates that if you feel adverse side effects, you should stop, and consider another approach.
As I mentioned earlier, it hasn’t been conclusively proven that cannabis is addictive. The confusion with addiction lies in the marijuana user to want to have more to get the chemical buzz that he/she used to get. Because of the build up of THC, they need more to activate that, but if you feel that you need a more powerful outside stimulus to get you over the hump, make sure that if you decide on hypnosis that you see a good professional.
As far as I go on the subject of marijuana and hypnosis, or hypnosis and anything, sometimes it is more rewarding to get into communication with yourself and talk to yourself without any shame, blame or guilt. Sometimes, mental baggage can be the worst of all, and through communication, a lot can be accomplished.
Therefore, what’s the verdict did the results of they hypnosis encourage you to throw away the hash pipes, bubble bags and roaches?
