2009.05.05
Drugs influence man’s life in many ways. When a person is under the influence of drugs, he loses himself and he does not know what to do or where he is. There have been countless cases reported in the past about the things related with drug abuse, drug trafficking, drug smuggling, etc. It gave a negative vision in society.
It was in late 1960s where the trend of drugs and marijuana started. In west, people were influenced by drugs and they thought it is cool and trendy. It became fashion in those years, literally. People followed music and then these drugs. Superstars also took drugs and the demand of these fatal substances grew and thrived everywhere, in almost all parts of the world.
During mid 1970s, India has seen a vast amount of drug smuggling practices. Bombay city was dominated by drug smugglers and traffickers. The west provided money and Indian people danced to the tunes of dollars or dinars and then many youngsters got addicted. With these practices, then started other crimes in the society. Some of the common criminal activities happened due to drug’s urges are as follows:
-
Youngsters started stealing money to overcome their crave for drugs
-
Robbery started taking place
-
Rapes were reported everywhere
-
Females became vulnerable and became the most soft victims of this poisonous thing
-
Corruption got boost, etc.
The effects vary, but the other, one of the most common after math of marijuana or drugs is the domestic violence. Men started beating their wives or any other family members and things started taking ugly turns. Women also were involved in this practice from the beginning and they started betraying and cheating their partners which resulted in break ups with their loved ones and partners.
Society also has seen various ugly sides of drugs such as health problems. When a person gets addicted to drugs, he forgets himself and the whole world, he becomes lonely and wants to be alone all of the time by not meeting anyone and becomes dry. He shuns the society because he wants to be alone all the time by being locked up into his own world of intoxication.
Whether cannabis use causes permanent physical or psychological changes in its users is still under question. The most serious concern is its effects on the pulmonary system, yet, studies have often used poor controls and their results can mislead a careless reader. Smoking the drug with a different apparatus or ingesting it without smoking at all could greatly affect the results of these studies.
The acute psychological effects of cannabis that cause its intoxicating properties are no mystery, as any user can report. Long term effects of cannabis use could possibly lead to the so-called "amotivational syndrome," but scientific evidence is lacking.
