The past of marijuana's medicinal exercise was traced by Mikuriya (1973). The earliest records of medicinal marijuana use have been traced back to China in 2737 BC, and facts of its curative use can be found throughout world cultures. It was used in colonial America and scheduled in the U.S. Pharmacopoeia, as color of cannabis, until 1941. In the 19th century, William B. O'Shaughnessy, MD, studied marijuana and concluded that it was safe and effectual in the treatment of various problems. The first wide U.S. study, carried out by the Ohio State Medical Society in 1860, had similar finish. Marijuana has been documented to be a drug having lethal substances harming human mind and body. However, it is proven that there are some medicinal values of marijuana as well if used in limited dosages. Most of the medicinal values are from the chemicals found in leaves, buds, resin, stems of the cannabis plant or commonly called as hemp. It is also a very good producer of fiber from the stalk as well as seed oil that has high nutritional values.
There are many researches and studies conducted on the medicinal values of marijuana and the earliest use of marijuana as a medicine dates back to 2737 B.C. in China. Let us go through several findings of medicinal values of marijuana.
1. According to the findings of Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academy of Sciences, marijuana has therapeutic potential in decreasing the intraocular pressure for glaucoma patients. It also controls severe vomiting in some patients seeking chemotherapy. Marijuana also acts as an anticonvulsant drug, helps in relaxing muscles, and other uses. They also noted that marijuana works differently to other conventional medicines

According to the studies conducted at the University of California at San Francisco, marijuana is found to be safe and very effective in treating peripheral neuropathy in HIV/AIDS patients, which is a great suffering in them. Marijuana provides some relief with this pain, which is caused by extreme damage to the nerves and where the patients feel like their feet and hands are on fire
3. Marijuana also provides relief of neuropathy though it does not cure the neuropathy completely. Many patients have reported about 30 percent reduction in pain after smoking marijuana
4. Marijuana has antiemetic properties due to tetrahidrocannabinol and provides good relief from severe nausea and vomiting in patients seeking chemotherapy. The use of medicinal quantity of marijuana has been approved by Food and Drug Administration in United States
5. Marijuana provides good relief for strong pains associated with malignant tumors and also proven to provide relief from rheumatic and articular pains
6. Hemp is a very good appetite stimulant it is proven that patients suffering with hard anorexia had very good response from its use.
7. Hemp also reduces the anxiety or stress levels and decreases the
nervousness feeling. It is said this property of reducing stress
levels is due to orienting in the hemp
