My Cannabis experiences

MY FIRST TIME WITH CANNABIS
“I and my girl friend were in an abandoned house and she rolled a joint. I didn’t even know I was high until suddenly the whole world seemed melting away and I was giggling so much. I was in an abandoned house, and my girlfriend rolled a joint. Then we went to an all-you-can-eat restaurant. I was too baked to drive the car so she drove it. At restaurant we had a huge meal. We impersonated a few characters from a TV serial; somehow they were better than ever. Soon we became paranoid and everyone knew we were high so we went home and slept.”
“I had once smoked a bowl in early teens with a buddy who was smoker. I had already taken lots of MGD so I didn’t feel it then. I passed out that night, even vomited and was sleeping in it. It was after 5 years when I tried it next. It was at a stoner’s place where we had the weed and heavy stone. I actually felt it. The gourmet food felt like orgasm after it. I remember I was fascinated by the way my legs would bend when I stood up; I even walked few minutes over the place because of the fascination. The next morning when I woke up I was groggy and thirsty. The poop had felt legendary.”
“I was a person who thought who didn’t need a drink or smoke to have fun. I didn’t even know what I’d be like to be high or drunk. I had a stoner who would put weed under my nose to tempt me but I could resist for 3 years. Later, at age of 20 life was difficult for me so I decided. It was my first time. We took a hit through a bowl, but I was in-experienced, never smoked even a single time, and was not ready for the burn. It hurt-really a lot! I was coughing. She knew I have to get through this first bit, and finally my system calmed down and opened so I took the second hit. Within minutes I felt so glorious, I hadn’t felt it ever before. Simple cookies..super! The smell the taste…everything too good…I was dancing!”

CANNABIS IS TOUGH!
“We were at my boyfriend’s house. I’d been drinking alcohol and someone passed me a joint. Just a couple of puffs and I vomited it all. Was so embarrassed”
“My girlfriend seems always coughing and wheezing. She doesn’t even touch cigarettes, only the spliff. Does it work that way too?”
“It lets me relax but then I get nervous and paranoid often, more when I am around people. I donno why”
WHY I TRIED CANNABIS?
These are taken from the studies done by NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse).
Studies done by NIDA show that people tried Cannabis because they were curious and the peers would encourage. Later they will tell that using Cannabis helped them relax; make more friends, fit-in, less stressed out, and more sociable.
- A 17 year old 11th grader said that he heard it was good for health; also saw something like it in magazine. His grand mother smoked it and also ate it. Patients were eating it too.
- A 16 years old 11th grader said that when she used it, her problems will only stop hurting temporarily. Then all of a sudden I was feeling as a part of them. I didn’t have to act right when I was high. I could be something…it was easiest way to have all the pleasure.
- Another 16 year old boy said that he tried it only because he thought his mates would give him a hard time if he wouldn’t try.
WHAT DO USER’S PARENTS SAY?
A few words taken from cannabis diaries of a mom who lost her eldest son because of Cannabis
“It was a difficult decision to step back from our eldest son who began smoking Cannabis 5-6 years back. Now I look back to the time when I started my Cannabis diary and see that a lot has happened. It still hurts, but I know it’s the right thing to do. It is going to be our first Christmas Eve without our son living with us as a part of family. As I give a re-read I can see that there are very few times of optimism, yet there were many times before this when I genuinely thought that there will be a new beginning, and we will be able to keep family together. I couldn’t think otherwise. I was ready to forgive my son for his past and was willing for new beginnings and even announced to everyone about it when my son would nod in approval. But then I gave up, and it all had started about a year ago….” (Read full diary)
A grand mother tells her daughter’s story. The girl was a user since teenage, left studies, married twice, had three children, and died at an early age of 37years. All were users and had miserable lives. The family paid heavy emotional cost because of them. Other family members were educated and established people with happy marriages and stable lives, but this girl’s life was ruined by early use of Cannabis and the suffers were her children and grand children... WORDS BY PATIENTS
A medical Cannabis patient tells about herself. She had suffered a closed head trauma in an auto accident in 1973. This resulted in grand-mal epilepsy. She was soon addicted to her medical therapy for epilepsy and still the seizure would not go. It’s noted that about 25% of patients are not benefitted by conventional treatment and she was one of them. She started experimenting with Cannabis and soon discovered that she could completely control the onset of seizure with Cannabis. Thus she was able to get rid of her medication. She had grown Cannabis in her private garden for 19 years but unfortunately she was a jailed under accusation for possession of Cannabis, and although the law protects medical Cannabis patients, there is little that will ensure against reprisal by the authorities.
Another person tells about his family and friends using Cannabis medically. One lady was diagnosed with terminal stage leukemia and was having severe reactions with chemotherapy. He encouraged her to try Cannabis and they found that the Cannabis tea solution was best in reducing the nausea and helping her sleep with peace. Her last months of life were eased with Cannabis. In the later 15 years 20 of his acquaintances have died and most of them benefitted from Cannabis at sometime during there last days.

THE OTHER SIDE OF PICTURE
Many of the users of Cannabis gradually increased the dose and frequency. With prolonged uses there were undesirable consequences as family conflicts, deterioration in academic and sports performance, memory problems, lack of motivation and fatigue. During initial use even the physical highs are very attractive but then as the habit develops there is no point of enjoyment anymore.
A 16year old told that before he smoked his priorities were family, school and small usual stuff. Then when he started with Cannabis it was all so new and so much fun and I began to prioritize it more than other things…and then after it there wouldn’t be any proper list at all I didn’t even know about it until after I left using it. Most people don’t feel life as it goes day by day but with Cannabis use one has to think and act, the goal is getting high. It’s like a mission. But now I don’t have it anymore and I have lost interest in school and other things. No cannabis, no goal. (See related)
WORDS WORTH NOTING DOWN:
“Five years ago, 95% of psychiatrists would have said that cannabis doesn’t cause psychosis. Now I would estimate that 95% say it does”
(Professor Robin Murray, Director Institute of Psychiatry,
“The mistake was that in its 2002 report, The Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs denied that cannabis was a contributory cause of schizophrenia, continued to deny this for the next two years and thus mislead ministers into repeatedly stating that there was no causal link between cannabis and psychosis”.
(Professor Robin Murray, letter to The Guardian, 19/01/06)
